Thoka Properties Hosts 7th Annual Q&A Session to Advance Real Estate Knowledge
Thoka Properties successfully hosted its 7th Annual Exclusive Q&A Session with Mr. Thoka on 27 June 2026, bringing together property practitioners, aspiring professionals, investors, students, business owners and members of the public for an evening of learning, engagement and industry development.
Held annually in celebration of Managing Director and Principal, Mr. Precious Thoka’s birthday, the session has grown into one of Thoka Properties’ flagship knowledge-sharing platforms. Since its inception in 2019, the initiative has continued to reflect the company’s commitment to empowering people through education, mentorship, ethical leadership and access to practical industry knowledge.
This year’s session was hosted live online and featured a distinguished panel of professionals from real estate, legal, finance, property investment, education and youth empowerment sectors. The platform created an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, receive expert insights and engage on important issues affecting the South African property industry.
A key highlight of the evening was the participation of Ms. Thato Ramaili, Chief Executive Officer of the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority, as the special guest. Her contribution reinforced the importance of ethical conduct, regulatory compliance, professionalism and transformation within the property sector.
The panel discussions covered a broad range of topics relevant to both established and aspiring property professionals. Mr. Mhlonishwa Kunene shared practical insights on property investment, including the importance of mentorship, market understanding and financial readiness. Ms. Sanelisiwe Ngcobo, Managing Director of NSN Inc., provided valuable legal guidance on property transactions, due diligence and conveyancing considerations.
Ms. Adrie Barnard, Chief Operating Officer of the Academy for Master Agents, addressed real estate education pathways and qualification requirements, highlighting the importance of structured learning and professional development. The finance discussion further emphasised the role of financial readiness, affordability assessment and credible support in successful property transactions.
Another meaningful part of the session was the recognition of transformation and development within the industry through the journeys of two Thoka Properties Property Practitioners, Mrs. Beauty Manyaka and Ms. Nomalungelo “Lunga” Makaya.
Mrs. Manyaka shared her progress in the industry, including her participation in the PPRA Principalisation Programme as she prepares for her PDE5 examination. Ms. Makaya reflected on her journey, which began through the PPRA’s One Learner One Estate Agent programme, and celebrated her recent achievement of passing her PDE4 examination.
In his address, Mr. Precious Thoka reaffirmed that the annual Q&A session is more than a birthday celebration. It is a platform created to give back to the industry, share knowledge, open doors for others and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the real estate profession.
The success of the 7th Annual Exclusive Q&A Session demonstrates Thoka Properties’ continued commitment to its core values of Ethics, Innovation and Excellence. Through initiatives of this nature, the company continues to promote learning, collaboration, transformation and ethical growth within South Africa’s property sector.
Thoka Properties extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Thato Ramaili, all guest speakers, panellists, partners, attendees and the organising team for making the session a success.
